May 12, 2015 US Marine Helicopter Missing
Scott Wolff 4 Comments News

A United States Marine Corps helicopter providing assistance in the wake of the massive earthquake in Nepal has gone missing while conducting operations near Charikot, according to U.S. Navy Captain Chris Sims.

The aircraft, a UH-1Y Huey, is assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 469. Sims would not say how many people were aboard the aircraft when it went missing.

The incident is currently under investigation and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Update:

Officials are now saying there are six Marines and two Nepalese solders aboard the aircraft. Thus far there are no indications of a crash, due the lack of the emergency beacon being activated. The search has been called off for the time being due to darkness.
