From The Cockpit: First Aerobatic Ride

Scott Wolff 4 Comments Drones

The world of aviation is not without its share of dramas and tragedies. We’ve touched on quite a few that have affected us on a very personal level, and others that adversely affect the well-being of industry giants like Airbus, Lockheed-Martin, and others.

But for those of us that are pilots, flying never gets old. It becomes an essential part of our lives–much like breathing. Even when we’re on the ground, we watch the sky and look forward to the next time we’ll be there.

People often ask me what it’s like to be a pilot, and the best way I can describe it would be to say something like this: flying airplanes gives a pilot a taste of freedom very, very few people ever truly get to experience. When you’re able to fly aerobatics and unlock those corners of the envelope, it magnifies that freedom a hundred-fold. When you’re upside down or climbing straight up, your eyes truly open to the possibilities.

So tonight we wanted to share that awe and wonder of flight with you, as seen through the eyes of a four-year-old girl. She’s flying with her dad, a pilot named Raphael Langumier, the President of Aviation RL in Canada. I don’t speak French, so I can’t translate for you, but quite honestly, the little girl’s reaction is all you’ll need.

Enjoy this one, FighterSweep Fans. It’s a great reminder of why we fly!
