Happy Wednesday, FighterSweep Fans! Shortly after Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James, announced the B-21 at this year’s Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando, the service also announced it would like help in naming the aircraft. We’ve heard some good suggestions, some interesting ones, and some that are just…well…just read on. And you can thank The Chive for your hump-day humor.
A month ago, Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James revealed an artist rendering of the new B-21 Long-range Strike Bomber during her “State of the Force” conference in Orlando. To mark this milestone in Bomber history, the Air Force is asking help from a select few to name this half billion dollar aircraft.
The catch, it has to be a two-word name, and only active duty Air Force members, including reservists, dependents, retirees and Air National Guard can submit a name through the AF website. And after seeing some of the suggestions surface on twitter, it’s probably best that it’s not open to the public.
