It’s been a tough week for some in military aviation, but let’s end it on a high note with this recap video about the F-35A hitting IOC!
The long path to IOC (Initial Operational Capability) for the F-35A finally came on 2 August 2016. The USAF declared the 34th Fighter Squadron completed the minimum necessary requirements for operational deployment.
This video takes a look back at the path to IOC. AF-1’s first flight was way back on November 14, 2009. The video also shows weapons and gun testing along with the first night flight. Additionally, there is some cool footage of the F-35 performing high angle of attack testing.
Congrats to those at the 34th Fighter Squadron for achieving IOC. Keep up the good work.
Happy Friday!
