Earlier today and just 24 hours after meeting personally with Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson, President-elect Trump launched another Twitter strike on the F-35 program.

Mr. Trump said that he has asked Boeing to price out a comparable F-18 Super Hornet!

President-elect Trump is clearly willing to use his position of power to create a sense of urgency to lower costs with defense contractors and he has not even taken office yet.

Marcus Weisgerber, the vice president of the Pentagon Press Association, tweeted that you cannot compare the two jets. The F/A-18 is cheaper, but unlike the F-35, it is not stealth. He said the Trump move “turns up the heat” on Lockheed which is entering contract negotiations for the next 100 F-35s. “The price is really gonna fall now,” Weisgerber tweeted. – Fox News

Boeing stock shares moved higher while Lockheed Martin’s stock price fell after the Trump tweet today. This is the second tweet by President-elect Trump on the F-35 program in less than two weeks.
