Gulfstream is on track to get its new G500 jet certified and delivered in 2017. The company has five test aircraft that have flown more than 2,600 hours and 600 flights. Recently the FAA approved the G500’s Pratt & Whitney PW814GA engines.

“Development testing is complete; company testing is well under way, and FAA certification has started, putting us right on track for certification and customer deliveries later this year,” said Gulfstream president Mark Burns. “The maturity, discipline and rigor of our program give us great confidence as we look forward to our first delivery.”

“The feedback during and after these flights was extremely positive,” Burns said, noting that the customers highlighted the added flexibility of the cabin, the comfort of newly designed seats and enhanced satellite communications. – AINonline

Gulfstream had originally planned for certification in 2018 but has moved up their schedule to accommodate for aircraft deliveries in 2017.
