A US Navy sailor was seriously injured when he was hit by an aircraft being towed on the deck of the US aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.
Navy spokesman Steve Fiebing says the accident occurred Friday evening aboard the San Diego-based aircraft carrier, which was off the coast for training exercises.
The Los Angeles Times reports the sailor was flown by helicopter to a hospital with a serious but non-life-threatening injury. – Fox News via AP
Surprising this does not happen more often. The flight deck of an aircraft carrier can be a very chaotic and dangerous place.
