Navy Seaman Ryan Sharland directs a UH-1Y Venom helicopter on the flight deck of the USS San Diego in the Indian Ocean, Dec. 28, 2017.

The ship is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency. The helicopter is assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161. – US Department of Defense
