Watch: To Catch a Drone! Don’t Try This at Home!

FighterSweep Staff No Comments Drones, Marine Corps, Military Aviation, Navy, News, Photos, Technology, Video

The Boeing made RQ-21A Blackjack drone was developed for the US Navy as a forward reconnaissance vehicle for the Marine Corps.

Watch as the Marine Corps launch and recover a RQ-21A Blackjack from the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock USS San Diego. The RQ-21A Blackjack is an intelligence surveillance reconnaissance unmanned aircraft capable of being launched and recovers from flight decks on naval vessels.

The drone system provides persistent maritime and land-based tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) data collection and dissemination capabilities to the warfighter.

The SkyHook system is the first aircraft capture system to eliminate runways and nets. –

You have to admit you want one of these! With no runway needed for launching or recovery the Blackjack can be utilized in many ways larger drones cannot.
